1842 Lombard Street Mob Attack and Finding Beneficial Hall 

The purpose of this study is to review newspapers during and immediately following the riot to surface a more nuanced understanding of what occurred from August 1-August 3, 1842 in hopes of igniting renewed research into the causes and destructive impact of this violence. 

This analysis includes a detailed timeline providing the targets, scale, and victims of the riot.  Finally, this analysis investigates the location of Beneficial Hall, a hall that was burned down during the riot
